Happy 8th Birthday Hailey!!

Today is Hailey's 8th birthday. Seems like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. She has grown so much and has so much personality. She really is the phrase "She's 8 going on 16". She's very independent and loving. She is in the third grade and loves her teacher and her classmates. I am so proud of her.

We celebrated her birthday on Saturday the 15th. I am glad we did because she has become sick with Bronchitis. We played pin the microphone/guitar on Hannah (like pin the tail on the donkey), the girls watched Hannah Montana while the boys went outside and played. Fun was had by all!

Graduation Day

We are so proud. Today my son Graduated from being a 6th grader. In this town the schools go from K-6th and then they go to the High School 7th-12th. So next year Greg will be in High School. It was very hard to hold back the tears. He has come so far from being an infant to a bright young man.

Today was Hailey's last day of school as well. Her program was on the 26th and she received a top honor in her class. Most Improved Reader! I am so excited! I cannot express enough how proud of my kids I am.

Congrats to you both!

Love,

Mom and Dad

End of the School Year

Here we are at the end of the school year and Mom has been doing her duty. I have been on two field trips, paid for Graduation pics, T-shirt, and Graduation CD. Have bought Greg's Graduation gift, cake, and a little something for Hailey for doing so well this year. It has been a fun but hectic time. I am a little sad because its a reminder that Greg is not a little boy anymore. He will be starting 7th grade at the High School next year. Hailey will be in third grade and is growing up so fast. I am so proud of both my kids. They are reaching for the moon, but if they miss they can grab onto a star to reach their dreams.

Snow Day

Today we had snow for the first time this winter. It comes after a rash of thunderstorms, straight-line winds and Tornadoes. Only in the South can you go from 70 degrees out on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday the temperature be at a high of 35 degrees and have snow. The kids had fun and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. One of God's amazing wonders.

Ladies Night

Last night some of my girlfriends and I went to Ladies Night at The Melting Pot. It was so much fun! Not only did I get to see my friends that I haven't seen in three months, but I also took my neighbor with me who does not go out and do things for herself. We talked and laughed and bonded and just caught up with each other. All proceeds go to different charities in the area. Last night it was for The Children's Hospital. The have raffles, vendors there to showcase their new products and lots of Ladies. It gets really packed really fast. The girls and I have decided this is something we are going to keep doing every couple of months. If you live near a Melting Pot, please take the opportunity to go. Here are a couple of pics I took. I love the one with me and the steam...LOL

Greg Nye the Science Guy

Greg and I have been working on one of his science projects. He is making Crystals. There are several ways you can make crystals. The main ingredient is water and either Borax, Sugar or Salt. We chose Borax. It's been fun to watch. We are still experimenting with how long it sits in the water and then exactly how much borax to use. It's been fun.

My Birthday

Oh my gosh, I did not realize how long it had been since I blogged. Please forgive me. We have had some trials that I was trying to work through, and I have been having a hard time making it through holidays without my dad. On my birthday, Jan. 13, 09, my Mother-In-Law and I don't agree on some things, but we both agree we LOVE The Olive Garden. So for my birthday she took me there for lunch. When I was on my way back home my Mom called and asked if I was home. I told her that my Mother-In-Law had taken me out to lunch and I was on my way. She said I needed to hurry up and get home because I had a surprise. What a great surprise it was. My Mom sent flowers for my birthday. It was quite the treat because I LOVE flowers. They were so bright and cheery it just made my day.

Happy Birthday Wes!

At 12:06 a.m. on January 1, 1972 my wonderful husband was brought into this world. What a wonderful gift! Thank you so much Wes for being such a wonderful husband, father, best friend, and the love of my life. I absolutely adore you and the wonderful life we have. I hope your day is absolutely wonderful!

New Year's Day traditions

What's your New Year's Day tradition? Being born and raised in CA, my favorite all time thing to do is wake up, hurry and eat breakfast, make a cup of hot cocoa, and turn the TV on to the New Year's Day Rose Parade. It never ceases to amaze me what they can do with flowers and other natural ingredients. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Day and a very blessed New Year! I would love to hear of your favorite New Year's Day tradition!
